Hey, all!
Just FYI, the Keyano Jazz Fest 2009 is going to be held on Friday-Saturday, November 20-21, 2009, in the Recital Theatre at Keyano College. This year I’m pleased to be welcoming some great players from Vancouver’s jazz scene as my guest clinicians: Tilden Webb on piano, Darren Radtke on bass, and Jesse Cahill on drums. I’m very much looking forward to adjudicating with them, and to performing with them on the Friday night. If you can be in Fort McMurray that Friday, the jazz concert will be the place to be!

Hi, all!
If you’re up in the Fort McMurray area, I’ll be giving my annual recital at Keyano College on Friday night, March 27th. This year’s concert is called “the Glazounov Concerto and Other Stories”. The first part of the concert will be a performance of the Glazounov Concerto for Eb Alto Saxophone, Opus 109, accompanied by pianist Hannah Smith. The second portion will feature jazz composed by myself and my guest artists from Edmonton: Joel Gray on trumpet, Mo Lefever on electric guitar, Matthew Roberts on bass, and Thom Bennett on drums. Should be a great show; hope you can join us!

Hi, Folks!
I’ll be playing in Edmonton a few times this month, as follows:
June 5-7 at Four Rooms w/Thom Bennett on drums
June 20-22 on the street corners downtown and in Old Strathcona during the Edmonton International Jazz Festival. (These will be in the 11am - 4pm time frame, so if you happen to be checking out the Jazz fest during those times, listen for me on the street.)
Looking forward to playing again!

Hi, Folks!
I guess I’m not up to speed on how to post a separate page, but I had created a page for my upcoming gigs, and it didn’t appear…..anyway, I played at 4 Rooms in Edmonton on March 7 and 8th, with Thom Bennett on drums, Mo Lefever on guitar, and Jeff Johnson on bass. A good time was had by all! This coming Friday, March 28, at 8pm, I will be hosting my spring recital in the Recital Theatre at Keyano College. I say hosting, because I will be featuring all of our jazzy faculty and tunes of their choosing, in addition to premiering two new works of my own. We’ll have Thom Bennett on drums, Mo Lefever on guitar, Mike Lent on bass, and we’ll be featuring Joel Gray on trumpet and Laura Glover on vocals.
If you’re in town, please come out and have a listen!

Hi, Folks!
Just wanted to say that I’m very excited to have been given some airplay on a few stations across the country; CKUA in Edmonton, CINQ 102.3 FM Montreal, and Jazz FM in Toronto! So, thank you to those music programmers who have had a listen and been kind enough to spin my disc on-air: Roger Levesque, Don Berner, Moz Taylor, and Brad Barker. I’ve sent out copies to a few more places, but I’ve not heard whether “Low-down, No-good…” is getting played elsewhere. But hey, ask your local station to play your favourite track. (Those of you with any experience in the music world know how difficult it is to generate “buzz”….)
