Artist’s Note: About “Low-down, No-good”

The title track, “Low-down, No-good, Downright Nasty Blues”, was inspired by the song “Man of Constant Sorrow” as featured in the Coen Brothers movie, O Brother, Where Art Thou? I sought to capture the same type of mournfulness, allude to the music of the Deep South, and give it a period “hard times” feel. Since the movie took place in the Depression, I researched photos of people from the period, and took note of their clothing and surroundings. Once I chose the title track, I went with the period theme for the photo shoot. I think it was very effective, in the end.

However, it is but one mood of eight on the CD; I don’t want you to think that the cover represents the style of music for the entire disc. Nor does it represent an untoward fondness for overalls!
